I also chose to do a one on one interview for my primary research. Doing the one on one interview allowed me to plough deeper into the questions i asked. Focus Group
I did a focus group with four people who use TV on Demand I wanted to find out why people watch TV on Demand and if they watch it more than ordinary TV.
1) Do you find using TV on demand is easier than watching normal TV?
People find it an easier way to watch TV they find it convienient as it fits around their lives they dont have to be back at a certain time to watch your programme, and you have decided you want to watch it at that time or day not a set time.
2) What are the pro’s of TV on demand?
You can access it anytime anwhere all you need is an internet connection which most people have on their phones nowadays. It is reliable you know that if you have missed it on TV you havent missed it all together, also they find a lot of the time they will go online to watch something in particular and see something else they want to watch and its only a click away instead of a week.
3) What websites do you use to watch programmes?
BBC I player
4oD
Mega Video
The more well known websites and official ones are safe and virus free but you have to be careful with the less well known ones.

A couple of people in my focus group actually did watch TV on Demand more than ordinary TV because they would be out a lot and use the time they are in to catch up on things they missed.
5) Why do you choose to watch TV on demand?
They main reason they used TV on Demand is because of the fact it fits around them they can watch whle series all in one and its free!
6) Would you say you watch TV on demand more than ordinary TV?
Some people do watch it more but others in the focus group said only if they missed something they would catch up on it using TV on Demand.
7) Is the quality as good if you are watching the TV on the internet?
Sometimes it can be but others it can be very pixelated and fuzzy most people in the focus group said it would depend on your internet connection as to how good the quality is but it can be as good as TV.
8) Are there any programmes which you cannot access on the TV on demand?
You cant get every single programme on the official TV sites but if not found on them some people in the focus group would go on to the illegal ones to find what they wanted to watch.
9) Have you ever had a bad experience using TV on demand?
No one had really had a bad experience using TV on Demand it was just down to their internet connection.
